SAN JOSE, California–(BUSINESS WIRE). Initiative to promote healthy brain development in newborns. The project focuses on the early stages of life when children develop important cognitive skills such as executive function (EF) and self-regulation. Professor Hasson uses EveryWord speech recognition technology to quantitatively assess infants’ sensorimotor and social interactions in real-world settings. The goal is to create a large database consisting of the (densely sampled) visual and auditory stimuli that surround babies during their first 1,000 days of life.

The study uses video cameras and the audio capture feature of EveryWord in 20 households of the participating families to collect data on caregiver-child interactions. The EveryWord solution was chosen for the study because of its effectiveness in filtering out extraneous noise typical of the home environment while capturing even the most subtle of utterances between mother and baby.

“The ability of ArkX Labs’ EveryWord™ technology to capture audio utterances with accuracy and clarity in multiple living environments made it the right choice for our research project,” said Uri Hasson, professor of psychology and neuroscience at the Princeton Neuroscience Institute. “And the ArkX Labs team was able to create a custom software integration that converted the recorded audio stream into a format that was easily consumed by our video partner. This software allowed the far-field audio recording of all utterances in the covered rooms to be perfectly synchronized with video recordings.”

Hasson added, “ArkX has been a really great partner throughout the project, providing the support we need to ensure the success of the project.”

Scott Wiley, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at ArkX Labs added, “We are thrilled to be part of a project that will benefit early childhood development in such profound ways. While this is a unique use case, the fact that we performed so well in the rigorous and challenging tests speaks volumes for the versatility and power of EveryWord™ technology.”

The EveryWord Ultra portfolio consists of an Audio Front End (AFE) Voice Processing Module, an Integrated Voice Module (SOM + Audio Board w/AFE) integrated into the AVS Development Kit qualified by Amazon Voice Service (AVS). became. The advanced audio and speech technology enables improved human-machine speech recognition and superior performance for OEMs and startups looking to bring their voice-enabled smart products and devices to market.

EveryWord outperforms other existing OEM solutions by capturing voice commands from three (3) times the standard distance of competitor offerings, around corners, and in noisy and reverberant environments. In addition, EveryWord technology offers the unique ability to identify and reject speech from televisions or other competing single-point noise sources. ArkX solutions are production-ready and pre-qualified by Amazon Voice Service (AVS) to mitigate risk, lower development costs, and reduce time to market.

ArkX Labs recently introduced its voice control capabilities using Sensory technology to create custom wake words and command sets to enable branded voice experiences.

ArkX Laboratories is a joint venture between product development pioneer Surfaceink and consumer electronics manufacturer Ark Electronics USA formed to bring an exceptional voice experience to market.
