NORRISTOWN — Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds Jeanne Sorg has announced her late summer and fall events planned across Montgomery County. Sorg will be taking home the office’s Veteran’s Discount ID program, as well as the presentation FraudSleuth and Montco Roots: Family and Property History through Deeds.

“Getting out into the community and bringing the services from my office to the people is one of my favorite aspects of this position,” Sorg said. “I am grateful that we can offer these services to the people of Montgomery County every day.”

Veteran Discount ID Program

Veterans are encouraged to record their discharge papers (DD214 or NGB22) with the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds Office. The documents are permanently stored in the Office’s secure database.

Veterans who record their military discharge papers receive a Veterans’ Discount ID Card, which is valid for discounts at more than 650 businesses throughout Montgomery County. Veterans should show their military discharge papers and a photo ID e.g. B. Bring a driver’s license to the event. The whole process only takes a few minutes.

FraudSleuth

FraudSleuth is a free property warning service provided by the Recorder of Deeds Office. Montgomery County real estate owners can register with their Parcel ID, which is the unique identifier for their property, and receive email alerts when a document is captured at our office against the information contained in their profile.

Montco Roots: Family and Property Research Through Deeds

During this program, Sorg will provide an overview of the types of documents that are included
Recorder of Deeds Office and demonstrate how to search the office’s online database for current and historical deeds on your property. Historical documents contain a wealth of information about family relationships and ownership history.
