Monday, October 18, 2021, Minneapolis, Minnesota: Cloud Court, Inc. (Cloud Court) today announced the general availability of Armatus, a new cloud-based tool for litigation attorneys. Armatus is a patent-pending software platform that was specially developed for the life cycle of the deposit: from witness preparation to the deposit itself to post-deposit analysis. It combines AI-controlled real-time transcription, automatic search of eDiscovery documents based on this transcription and remote collaboration in a single interface.

Armatus enables trial teams to question and defend witnesses more effectively or to quickly counteract or neutralize potentially harmful testimony during testimony. “Traditional wisdom says that the best way to resolve a case is to prepare for a lawsuit,” said Norm Taple, COO of Gurstel Law Firm PC and Chairman of the Cloud Court. “But in practice, it’s statistically very high unlikely that a trial will take place. What you should be doing is positioning your case for the best possible settlement. That means focusing on taking on outstanding deposits. Armatus makes it a lot easier. “

Armatus enables attorneys to maximize the benefits of their existing eDiscovery production and collaborate with internal and distributed litigation teams in new and effective ways, including by preparing witnesses in advance of testimony. During the filing itself, the filing attorney and his team members in the room and in the distance can read and select real-time transcript content, automatically search the eDiscovery production without having any experience with the eDiscovery platform itself, and immediately see relevant documents submitted to them technical questions help.

“After handling hundreds of cases for both private and public companies, I can say that one of the best ways to get a case settled on favorable terms is to gather devastating evidence,” said Michael Okerlund, former IP Litigation Attorney and GC, and now the CEO of Cloud Court. “If you crush an informed testimony, your settlement position – not to mention your stance on summary judgments and litigation – improves dramatically. Botch it up and your universe just got a little bit darker. For this reason, it makes sense to prepare for key statements with the same care that you do in court. Armatus’ use of technology and your broader team enables you to dominate on deposits. “

“In developing Armatus, we consulted with lawyers across the litigation landscape, including law firms, in-house attorneys, government agencies, testifying experts, judges and more,” said Milena Higgins, Ph.D., CTO of Cloud Court Armatus is designed to both strengthen and simplify the task of accepting (or defending) a key deposit. ”Dr. Says Higgins, “The testimony is fluid, unpredictable, and limited in time, so it is difficult to find the ideal document to spontaneously question a witness about something you did not know was coming. We designed Armatus to help litigators leverage the collective knowledge of their entire litigation teams so they can do just that. “

The overall solution consists of:

  • AI-powered speech-to-text transcription based on millions of hours of testing in conjunction with custom dictionaries for technical terminology cases
  • Automatic search during the testimony
  • Role-based, secure access to eDiscovery databases that can be used by teams unfamiliar with complex eDiscovery platforms
  • Secure live collaboration with remote participants
  • Real-time parallel transcription and eDiscovery search results

Armatus will be generally available starting October 22, 2021. For more information on Armatus or to request a demonstration, visit
